Soledad Canyon

1,030 acres of prime open space and habitat lands in Soledad Canyon, east of Santa Clarita in Los Angeles County were purchased with the help of the Riverside Land Conservancy on October 1, 2012.  Partners in the acquisition included California Wildlife Conservation Board, the City of Santa Clarita, Los Angeles County, Mountains Rivers Conservation Authority and the Santa Clarita Watershed Recreation and Conservation Authority, the ultimate owner of the property.  This is the 3rd acquisition in the Angeles Linkages Project which seeks to protect over 26,000 acres (including acreage identified by the Angeles Linkages CAPP as well as lands identified in the San Gabriel-Castaic Linkage of South Coast Wildlands Missing Linkages project) and aims to provide a wildlife corridor and connection between two legs of the Angeles National Forest.
